TEC Testing Day

College holds its annual Year 6 TEC Testing Day in the month of June each year.

This is one of the criteria used in selecting students for the TEC program. Absence from the day would exclude a student from entering the program.

Approximately seventy students from all around Sydney will participate in this.

During this day the students participate in four activities which access their academic ability, their computer skills, and their attitude to computer technology.

  • Academic ability - The students are given two tests. One tests their general skills and the other their Maths skills. A student who may do poorly in these tests is not automatically excluded from the program, but parents would be asked to come in for an interview to discuss the suitability of the TEC program for their son.
  • Computer Skills - This is given to provide us with a measure of where this group is in regard to their computer ability. A student would not be excluded automatically from the TEC program if he performed poorly in this section.
  • Attitude - There are no real "rights" and "wrongs" in this section. It is given simply to judge students' ideas about technology.

The first session begins at 9:30am in the College hall. Students will be finished and ready for collection after 3:00pm.

The students will be provided with lunch by the College, however the canteen will be open for their use. Good casual clothing is appropriate.

For further information contact the TEC Coordinator.
