Education involves more than just classroom instruction. Holy Cross strives to provide students with experiences in many different areas. Students are supported by dedicated and experienced teachers with a real interest in developing the full potential of each individual. The College has a long and proud tradition of success in many sports. Cultural and recreational activities are also provided with many students involved in music, drama and public speaking.
Some opportunities offered by the College in the area of sport include:
- Participation in the Metropolitan Catholic Schools Competition in a wide variety of sports including rugby league, soccer, cricket, basketball, swimming, athletics, cross country, tennis, squash and golf.
- A wide variety of non-competitive sports on Thursday afternoons.
- Affiliated sporting clubs offering weekend competitions in rugby league, soccer, and cricket.
Cultural activities include:
- participation in the Catholic Schools Debating Competition.
- public speaking including Rotary and Lions Club competitions.
- mock trial competitions.
- opportunities to learn a musical instrument. Individual performance is also encouraged.
- membership of stage bands and other musical groups.
- choir and singing groups.
- film and video direction, production and editing.
