  1. In the Gospel values modelled by the person of Jesus Christ.
  2. All staff and students are valued members of this community and therefore deserve care and respect.
  3. In the development of each individual as a whole person.
  4. That this Catholic school functions as a real educational alternative and as a model providing leadership for the wider community.
  5. That education happens in partnership with families and is a shared responsibility of the community.
  6. That our curriculum is relevant, dynamic and innovative in responding to the needs of our school community.

Belief One: In the Gospel values modelled by the person of Jesus Christ

We aim:-

  1. To practise Gospel values in our lives and to use them as the foundation of the school’s life;
  2. To create an environment where members of the school community will see Christianity as a way of living, as distinct from a collection of rituals and rules;
  3. To commit ourselves to the values of the Gospel and to translate them into the curriculum;
  4. To create a community where people care for each other and value each other’s emotions and feelings;
  5. To provide pastoral care which reflects the Gospel values;
  6. To encourage the adoption of life commitment to Gospel values.

Belief Two: All staff and students are valued members of this community and therefore deserve care and respect.

We aim:

  1. To ensure that each person feels valued for their talents, is encouraged to give what they are able, and is enabled to develop those talents.
  2. To affirm and support each other.
  3. To lead by example, and thus demonstrate our commitment to Gospel values through justice, compassion, honesty and sensitivity to all.
  4. To create a climate where ideas are expressed openly and honestly.
  5. To achieve quality, open communication.
  6. To recognise the cultural context from which each person comes.

Belief Three: In the development of each individual as a whole person.

We aim:

  1. To foster a Catholic spirituality via prayer, the religious education curriculum and by our ministry to each other.
  2. To encourage, recognise and value successes achieved by a genuine commitment to excellence.
  3. To provide support networks especially for those most in need of that support.
  4. To encourage appropriate standards of behaviour to the capacity of the developmental stage of each person.

Belief Four: That this Catholic school functions as a real educational alternative and as a model providing leadership for the wider community.

We aim:

  1. To foster effective leadership at all levels which is based on Christian values;
  2. To create a community where there is effective communication and people are responsibly informed.
  3. To achieve an atmosphere where open interaction and discussion is encouraged and people’s opinions are considered.
  4. To maintain a climate conducive to quality teaching and learning.
  5. To promote and support positive involvement in the wider community.

Belief Five: That education happens in partnership with families and is a shared responsibility of the community.

We aim:

  1. To recognise and affirm the role of parents as the primary educators of their children.
  2. To invite dialogue with parents through frequent and effective communication to and from the school.
  3. To encourage parent participation in the life of the school, as well as its social dimension.
  4. To recognise and affirm the social and cultural diversity of our students’ families.
  5. To respond to the personal and home difficulties to those in a need of our support.

Belief Six: That our curriculum is relevant, dynamic and innovative in responding to the needs of our school community.

We aim:

  1. To provide a wide range of opportunities and experiences which enable creativity and diversity and enhance living skills.
  2. To provide a range of strategies and resources to assist students in their life and career goals and in the development of their talents and social skills.
  3. To establish a curriculum that is responsible to a changing society and the changing needs of the school community.
  4. To provide an education that is appropriate for each individual’s needs.
