Debating
Holy Cross College prides itself in encouraging its students to participate in various Debating and Public speaking tournaments held within the College as well as in competition with other schools.
Yr 7 Debating Masters
The Yr 7 Debating Masters Tournament is a competition that gives young students the opportunity to actively engage with others who enjoy a ‘good argument’. It is an extra-curricular activity that ties in closely to the Yr 7 debating unit taught in Term 1, giving keen students a chance to test-drive their newly acquired debating skills. With interesting and complex topics, students debate their way to the championship round vying for the chance to represent Holy Cross against other colleges in the CSDA competition.
CSDA Debating
Students from Years 7-12 are challenged to compete in the CSDA Debating competition; administered by the Catholic Schools Debating Association. The competition provides teams with the opportunity to foster team spirit, enhance self-confidence and exercise their speaking skills, whilst competing against other College debating teams. The CSDA competition takes place during Term 2.
